Safari to Botswana — Botswana, a landlocked country straddling the tropic of Capricorn, is one of the last unspoiled wildernesses in Africa. Home to the “"big five"”— lion, leopard, elephant, Cape buffalo, rhinoceros — Botswana offers the epitome of a romantic Africa safari.
What does our luxury Botswana safari holiday in Africa have to offer? In addition to our excellent field guides our itinerary includes:
- Three different camps noted for their profuse wildlife and ideal setting for a safari. Mombo and Xigera Camps are both located among the streams, lagoons, and plains of the Okavango Delta. DumaTau Camp, our third destination, lies amid the unspoiled wilderness of the Linyanti Reserve.
- Due to the conservational foresight of its government, Botswana is home to a great diversity of animals. In addition to the big five, all of Africa's major predators can be seen, often on a single game drive. We may also see large numbers of zebras, giraffes, hippos, and several types of antelope. The variety of bird life is staggering, with over 350 species.
- Accommodations at all three luxury, adventure camps are in spacious, permanent tents with hot and cold water and shower outlets. Each safari lodge has separate lounge and bar areas that often overlook waterways, which adds to the ambiance of being in the bush on safari.
